Senior Leadership Team

John McGowan  Acting Principal
Thank you for making me welcome in my appointment as Acting Principal.  Maungawhau School is blessed with a wonderful location and superb grounds, enthusiastic and talented people and I am looking forward to being part of the journey of continuous improvements.  After all, we live in an age where leading and managing change to improve outcomes has never been so important.

Olwen Blain  Deputy Principal
I have responsibility for the Middle School (Waipuna), Curriculum and Resourcing. I particularly enjoy working with younger children especially in reading, writing and discovery topics. I love to see the children becoming increasingly independent and involved in the learning process. The goal of our team is to provide a happy, secure, inspiring learning environment which will support the children in becoming the best they can be.

Marilyn Schroeder  Acting Associate Principal and SENCO Year 1 to 3 (Special Education Needs Coordinator)
I thoroughly enjoy my varied role at Maungawhau School.  Along with being Acting Associate Principal for this term, my responsibilities include team leader of the Junior School (Whanake Team) and Maths Lead Teacher. I teach in Room 10 on Mondays and Tuesdays.  I look forward to working with staff and parents to develop and provide effective programmes based on our students learning needs.

Diana Mobberley  Acting Associate Principal and SENCO Year 4 to 6 (Special Education Needs Coordinator)
I will have been working at Maungawhau School for 6 years at the end of term one and look forward to getting to know more students and their families in my role as Acting Associate Principal.  At Maungawhau School it is our desire to provide a friendly, safe and stimulating environment for your children to learn.  To do this well requires good communication between home and school.  Please feel free to contact me should you like to make an appointment to meet.  My office is situated upstairs in the office block.
