Although there is no compulsory uniform, a range of Maungawhau School merchandise including tops in house and school colours is available through the Royal Oak Warehouse.

Sunhats – As of 2015, the Board of Trustees have introduced a cancer society bucket hat with the Maungawhau emblem a compulsory requirement for our students when outside. These are available from our school office for $10 each.  All children must wear a hat when playing outside in Term 1 and 4.

All named clothing is returned to the owner.  Unnamed items are sent to the Lost Property box located in the walkway of the junior school courtyard by Room 12. Lost property is displayed on the last two days of each term, after which unclaimed items are donated to charity. Valuable items such as watches are held at the office.

Please support your child in taking responsibility for the care and organisation of personal property.  Please make every effort to name all your child’s clothing and belongings.

The wearing of jewellery is not encouraged at this school.  Cultural wishes will be respected, but jewellery is worn at the owner’s risk.

Children are not to bring toys to school unless requested as part of the school programme.

We strongly discourage children having mobile phones at school.  However, if the use of a mobile phone is a necessary part of your family safety expectations, please ensure the phone is given to the class teacher at the beginning of every day.
