We are excited to offer our local Early Childhood Centres the opportunity to visit us on our Transition to School Open Mornings each term to ensure that our new students feel secure in starting at our school with increased confidence and a greater understanding of school life.

These visits are for students who are already enrolled to start with us and also for students who are considering coming to our school.  During all of our open mornings parents are welcome to attend with their child and their Early Childhood teachers. These open morning visits are in addition to the personalised pre-school visits that each new child will have with their New Entrant teacher closer to their own school start date – (our Student Administrator, Karen Blanchard, will be in touch to arrange this).

We ask that only children who are at a minimum of 4.6 – 5 years old attend, as these visits will be in established New Entrant/Year One classrooms.

If you are going to visit us for the open morning could you please email our Transition to School Team Leader (Liz Lapish) at lizl@maungawhau.school.nz to confirm the number of children who will be attending. Please confirm by 7 November.

Please be seated by 2pm. Led by rooms 11 and 12.

Eat My Lunch Day

EAT MY LUNCH DAY AT MAUNGAWHAU SCHOOL

Thanks to the support from Maungawhau school the Eat My Lunch Company have been successful at reaching their goal of providing the one-millionth free lunch. Maungawhau schools support enabled 188 give lunches to be provided to needy kids.
The Maungawhau school action group have decided they would like to continue to support the Eat My Lunch company and their work to alleviate child poverty in NZ by hosting a second Eat My Lunch day at Maungawhau Primary school on Tuesday 27 November with a Christmas lunch being provided to all children who place a lunch order.  Details about the Eat My Lunch day are included in the poster below. Ordering instructions will be sent out shortly as we are going to trial a new way of doing this.

All lunch orders will need to be placed online by Friday 23 November.
We thank you for your support!
