The annual Maungawhau School Fair started back in 1944. Before that there were many carnivals, picnics, fetes and floral fairs which were the pioneers to the event that we know today. The fair has always been a day of enjoyment, not just a fundraising exercise; a day filled with rides, games, food, fun and stalls.
The school relies on the fair as its major fundraiser contributing to the school’s annual funds. The fair’s success depends on the contribution of parents and staff being involved in the planning committee and providing ideas for improvement, making and donating goods for sale, serving on stalls and so much more.
